Neuromodulator FAQs

Botox (by request), Dysport, and Xeomin

No vitamin E or blood thinners 3 days prior (if possible), to appointment. These will increase your risk for bleeding and bruising. Do not stop taking prescription medications without consulting your doctor.

1- No laying down, looking down (including looking at your phone), or touching your face for 4-6 hours.
2- No makeup or face cream for 4-6 hours.
3- No exercise for the rest of the day.
4- No high heat including saunas, hot tubs and baths for the rest of the day.
5- No massaging the area for 48 hours.
6- Nothing tight on your face like a hat or sunglasses, depending on the treatment area.

It’s possible to experience bruising, bleeding, headache, blurred vision (rare), eyelid or forehead droop (rare 1-2%), asymmetrical smile if treating the lower face (rare 1-2%), and infection (rare). These can be mitigated by following the post care instructions.

Once the medication fully sets in, Brit can assess to see if there is any residual muscle movement. If this is the case, a small top up will be given in those areas. You can always add more, you can’t take what’s given away!

You will start to see results around day 5 and full results by day 14.

Everyone is different but on average 3 months. Areas with excessive muscle movement, such as the mouth, will last around 6-8 weeks.

If you have a neuromuscular condition (contraindicated) or a bleeding disorder (increased risk for bruising). If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or are currently taking amino-glycosides.

No! You can go back to work and about your life, as long as you follow the post care instructions.

Hypderhidrosis FAQs

Characterized by excessive sweating. There are 2 types: Primary (no known cause and occurs on both sides of the body) and secondary (a side effect of some disease processes or a medication side effect).

1- A “sweat test” will be performed. This involves dabbing on iodine tincture with corn starch on top to the affected area. The overactive sweat glands will then turn a dark color and show what areas need treated.
2- The solution will be wiped off, a topical numbing cream will be applied and let you chill for 5-7 minutes.
3- A 1 cm grid will be drawn on to guide the treatment areas.
4- Neuromodulator (Botox or Dysport) will be injected to each grid area using a very small needle.

Many times, yes! Please contact your insurance company to find out if you qualify. Often times you must have tried and failed 1 topical treatment (creams, wipes, or gels) to qualify for neuromodulator treatment. If you need a preapproval form filled out please contact No Filter and we can arrange to help with that.

1- No antiperspirants for 24 hours prior.
2- No blood thinning medications (aspirin, NSAIDs, alcohol, St John’s Wort, Vitamin E, garlic, gingseng, gingko, omegas) for 72 hours prior to appointment.
3- Underarm hair will have to be shaved so the area can be visualized.

1- Keep the area clean and dry for 2 hours then antiperspirants can be applied.
2- Avoid strenuous activity, high heat (hot tubs, saunas) and blood thinning medications for 24 hours post treatment.

You will come back to the clinic 2 weeks post treatment to repeat the sweat test and determine treatment effectiveness. At the 2 month period following treatment Brit will reach out to determine efficacy.

You will notice effectiveness starting 5 days post treatment with full effect at 14 days. Results typically last about 6 months, and up 12 months. Results are expected, but not guaranteed.

Please see the Services page for in-depth information on pricing.

Clenching/Grinding FAQs

No, the clinic does not diagnosis. You do not need a TMJ diagnosis to be treated for hyperactive Masseter muscle movement causing pain, clenching and grinding.
Neuromodulator (Botox, Dysport or Xeomin) will be injected into the Masseter muscle from the outside of the cheek. The medication relaxes the muscle, possibly decreasing clenching, grinding and pain.
Your pain may be controlled if it is your muscle causing the issues. If you are having pain because of your joints or misalignment of your jaw, you will have to seek out dental care.
Between 2-5 per side.
Bruising, asymmetrical smile (rare), infection (rare), decreased chewing ability (not likely especially if you have overactive muscles).
The medication will start to set in around day 5, with full results at day 14. Some clients notice immediate results, due to the release of tight facia from the needle pokes.
Yes, you will come into the clinic at day 14 to evaluate your results, and see if a small top up is needed.
On average 3 months.
